Do I Have to Accept My New Player Welcome Bonus?
When you sign up to an online casino and make your fist ever deposit you will instantly qualify for a new player welcome bonus, but you don’t have to accept this offer. A message will pop up on the screen for you and this will ask you whether you want to accept the bonus or decline the bonus. If you don’t want to accept the bonus, simply hit decline.
Most online casino players will accept their bonuses each time they are offered them, but you don’t always have to accept them. The only thing that puts most players off accepting a casino bonus is the wagering requirement (aka the playthrough requirement), but don’t let that put you off. The lower the wagering requirement is the better it is for you as a player and the good news is that most of our online casino bonuses come with relatively low wagering requirements.
This is basically the amount of cash that you must wager before you can withdraw any winnings that you have made from your bonus and the wagering requirements usually need to be completed within a certain period of time, for example one week or perhaps even one month. If you don’t complete them within the allotted time, you will lose your bonus cash and any winnings that you made and you will simply be left with your initial deposit.
The wagering requirement at many of our online casinos is usually 30x times the bonus amount, but most casinos make you wager the deposit AND the bonus amount before you can withdraw your winnings. If you can’t be bothered to wager your bonus then the best thing to do would be to decline the bonus as soon as you are offered it.
Let’s just take a quick look at an example of how this works. If you deposit $500 with a 100% match bonus worth up to $500 and you deposit the full $500 this means that you will end up with $1,000 to play with ($500 deposit + $500 bonus). If this bonus comes with a 30x wagering requirement then you would need to wager a total of $15, 500 before you could withdraw ($500 deposit x 30 wagering requirement, + $500 bonus).
Don’t forget that you don’t always have to accept your online casino bonus, but if it comes with relatively low requirements like these and if you have plenty of time to complete them then there is no reason why you wouldn’t accept the bonus.
