Indiana Betting Options Sparks Some Negative Reactions

Not everyone is happy about all the wonderful betting options that will be available at Indiana sportsbooks when they open. Minor League Baseball (MiLB) already expressed some concerns over bets being made on games. This is particularly true as the purpose of the league is developmental as opposed to competitive.

Players don’t get paid as much as their MLB counterparts, which certainly opens up the potential for Australian Open-like scandals. These involve players being paid to throw games and earn more by doing so than actually playing. With the first Indiana sports betting sites to begin taking bets on September 1st and the MiLB season to end the very next day, it is highly unlikely that this issue will be dealt with this year.

William Hill to Enter Indiana Sportsbook Market?

Despite the sportsbook market not having officially opened in Indiana, it already seems to be growing. The Tropicana Evansville recently received permission to start up a sportsbook, which means that 13 casinos will now have active sportsbooks available to bettors.

William Hill has applied to run the casino at the Tropicana. The group already has a deal with the casinos parent group, Eldorado Resorts. With that in mind, it is highly likely that the sportsbook will get the contract. The only two casinos left in the state to get a sportsbook license is the Majestic Star and Rising Star. Country residents are set to vote on whether to allow an expanded gaming bill that will allow for sports betting later this year.
