Why the Pass Line Bet In Craps Is Best

Craps remains one of the most popular table games in casinos. One of the many aspects of playing craps that casino players just beginning their foray into table games often think is that the game is very difficult. This isn’t true. The only thing that is required is knowing what bets to make and when. Presently there are 40 different types of bets that you can make on the craps table.
Several of these bets have exceptional odds, while others are best avoided unless you happen to be a craps aficionado and know when to play them. The basic bet in craps is known as the pass line bet. A pass line bet is also considered the beginner’s bet as the house edge is relatively low with 1.41%. Some advanced craps players state it is one of the best bets a player can make.

When Pass Line Bet Occurs

Known as the fundamental bet, every casino player places this bet when they play the game of Craps both online and off. The pass bet occurs when the casino player places a wager on the pass line itself on the come-out roll. The come-out roll happens if there is a black marker on the table that shows as “off”. If the roll happens to be 7 or 11, the casino player will win. But, if the come-out roll is a 2, a 3 or a 12, then you lose your wager.

If any of the other numbers show up on the come-out roll, then that is referred to as the point. The casino dealer at the Craps table will then turn the marker to “on” and place it on the point number. The casino players will then have to wait on the shooter to roll the dice. Until the dice show the same point again, or the number 7, the casino player cannot win. If a 7 shows up before the point, then the casino player loses. Even money is given to the casino player if the point number shows up on the next roll.

Why Casino players Consider the Pass Line Bet

Casino players tend to consider the pass line bet because of the previously mentioned odds associated with it. The house edge is relatively low. The odds in the game of Craps pay 2 to 1 on points of 4 and 10, 3 to 2 on a 5 and 9, and 6 to 5 on the numbers 6 and 8. This makes an interesting dynamic for the game of Craps especially if the casino player has placed a pass line bet. There are many types of bets that can be done in Craps, but the pass line bet remains one of the most exciting because it is the easiest to understand and comprehend, especially when playing Craps online. Casino players thinking of playing Craps should begin with a pass line bet.
