Indiana Sports Betting: Where to Find the Five State Casino Sportsbooks
Below are the five Indiana sports betting venues that will be opening in the state on and after September 1.
Ameristar East Chicago
The Ameristar in East Chicago, Indiana sportsbook will be next to the Stadium Sports Bar and Grill. This is at the main entrance. According to Penn National Gaming, the casino will offer a betting counter and an odds board. Ameristar has invited Mike Ditka and Devin Hester, two well-known former Chicago Bears football players, to place the first bets at the September 1 opening.
Hollywood Casino, Lawrenceburg
The second Indiana sports betting venue to open on Sunday will be in the Hollywood Casino in the Hops House 99 sports bar. The casino will be offering Hoosiers a betting counter, kiosks, and TVs to watch sports events. On their opening day, former Cincinnati Reds baseman Tony Pérez and former Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Anthony Muñoz will place the first bets.
Indiana Grand, Shelbyville
Finally, the last state sportsbook to open on September 1 is the Indiana Grand. It’s the first Caesars Entertainment property in the state to open. According to Caesars, the sportsbook will be in the heart of the casino. It will offer “state-of-the-art sports betting technology, high-definition televisions, and luxury seating”.
French Lick
The French Lick will open on Friday, September 6. Next to the French Lick Resort, the casino has 3,000-square-foot Indiana sports betting venue. In it, bettors will find two LED video walls, eight self-serve kiosks, three-betting windows, and 18 televisions. Furthermore, it can fit 100 guests. Additionally, the French Lick sportsbook will have an online version. It was created in partnership with Rush Street Interactive later in the year.
Horseshoe Hammond
The Horseshoe, which is 15 miles from Chicago, will open its 5,3000-square-foot sportsbook on September 4. It will have a high-resolution video wall, deluxe lounge, and six betting counters.
More to Appear Around Indiana Sports Betting
These aren’t the only sportsbooks to open in Indiana. The exact dates of other platform’s openings aren’t yet confirmed by the state’s gaming officials. However, here are some other Indiana sports betting platforms that will open pending approval:

- Blue Chip Casino, Michigan on September 5;
- Belterra Casino, Florence on September 9;
- Winner’s Circle off-track betting in Clarksville on September 12;
- New Haven’s Winner’s Circle off-track betting on September 19;
- Harrah’s Hoosier Park, Anderson on September 19;
- Tropicana, Evansville in September; and
- Horseshoe Southern Casino, Elizabeth in September.
Indiana Mobile Sports Betting May Still be on the Horizon
The future of mobile Indiana sports betting may seem uncertain but it’s still in the pipeline. The executive director of the Indiana Gaming Commission, Sara Gonso Tait, said on Wednesday, August 28, that the commission has yet to receive an application to conduct mobile sports betting. However, the commission hasn’t ruled out taking a two-tiered approach to sports betting in Indiana. Firstly, they’ll focus on retail betting and then move onto mobile betting.
